If you cannot contact your employer, the IRS can assist you in getting the information. You can contact the IRS about a missing Form W-2 after February 15th at 1-800-829-1040.
If you wish to get a head start on preparing your taxes and you have your last pay stub for the year, it should contain the same amounts as are on your Form W-2(s).
Note: If you had pretax deductions from your pay such as retirement plan contributions, health insurance or child care, these amounts should be deducted from your gross wages to determine your taxable wages.
It's a good idea to compare the last pay stub to the Form W-2 anyway, to ensure the amounts are correct.
