What is an Affiliate Program?
Affiliate programs are a way for web site owners like you to be compensated for driving traffic and sales to online merchant sites. You simply place a link on your web site (or in your e-mail) that, when clicked, sends visitors to a merchant's site to purchase a product. It's a win-win partnership, because you increase revenue while merchants enjoy increased traffic.

What is CompleteTax?
Developed in 1998, CompleteTax is an online tax preparation tool aimed at the consumer market. This easy-to-use application handles federal and all state individual tax returns, and also includes over 500 web-enabled pages of detailed, plain language content in an easy-to-read Tax Guide.

Our parent company, CCH Tax and Accounting, is a leading provider of tax and business law information and software. In addition to tracking, reporting, and analyzing tax and related law for approximately 700 publications, CCH produces The ProSystem fx Office, an award-winning suite of professional tax and accounting software.

What is the cost to prepare a tax return using CompleteTax?
There is no charge to enter information and calculate a tax return. Payment is required only when a customer is ready to print or electronically file a return. Prices vary depending upon the product version purchased. A credit card is required (all major credit cards are accepted).

Is my web site eligible to become an affiliate?
CompleteTax wants to work with all web sites, from large business sites to individual web sites. Anyone may submit an application through Commission Junction, and we review each and every potential affiliate site before accepting it into the program. We do reserve the right to refuse a site.

Examples of sites that do NOT qualify for participation include:
• Sites that promote sexually explicit material.
• Sites that promote violence.
• Sites that promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation, or age.
• Sites that promote illegal activities.
• Sites that violate intellectual property rights.

How much money can I earn?
It's unlimited! To earn the 20% commission fee, your web site visitor must click-through a link from your site (or e-mail) to the CompleteTax site. In addition, their tax return must be printed or electronically filed, with full payment made. We pay commissions after payment and filing or printing of a completed tax return has occurred.

How much will it cost me to join the CompleteTax Affiliate Program?
Nothing! It is absolutely free to join the CompleteTax Affiliate Program. Begin the registration process.

Do I have to meet any quotas?
No, we do not require affiliates to meet any quotas.

I don't have a web site yet. Can I still apply to be an affiliate with CompleteTax?
As long as you have an e-mail address, you can still become an affiliate. You may promote CompleteTax through your e-mail address to earn commissions. If your web site is "under construction" please apply after your site has launched.

Can a non-profit organization join the CompleteTax Affiliate Program?
Yes, we encourage non-profits to join our program.

Setting Up Links

How do I link to the CompleteTax web site?
CompleteTax provides many different types of banner advertisements, hypertext links and graphic links. These graphics can be found in the Merchant Programs section on Commission Junction. After you have become an active affiliate of our program, you will be able to search through the many links that we have made available on Commission Junction. If you would like to alter any of the images provided, you MUST get approval from our Affiliate Manager by e-mailing us at affiliates@completetax.com.

How can I promote CompleteTax?
Through Commission Junction, CompleteTax will provide banners, graphic and text links that you can place on your site. These links will be continuously updated with tax season reminders, new updates and/or promotions. We have found that the text links are the most effective marketing tool for generating CompleteTax sales. One proven and effective way to build traffic is to submit your site to multiple search engines and register on affiliate-focused web sites. Please see full program terms on the Commission Junction website.

Can I use the CompleteTax logo on my site?
Yes, you can use any of the images that we have provided through Commission Junction. Please remember that each of these images must contain the Commission Junction unique identifier and HTML code in order to receive credit for any sales. If you would like to alter any of the images provided, you MUST get approval from our Affiliate Manager by e-mailing us at affiliates@completetax.com.

Can I use CompleteTax in my URL or in the name of my site?
No. The use of CompleteTax.com or any variation thereof in your URL or in the name of your site will be cause for your immediate dismissal from the affiliate program. In such a case when you breach the affiliate agreement, you thereby forfeit any earned commissions. Please see full program terms on the Commission Junction website.

What kind of advertising is prohibited?
You cannot send unsolicited e-mail (i.e. spam) in any way. There will be no leniency in cases of unsolicited e-mail, and affiliates in violation of this policy will forfeit their commissions and be removed from the program.

Can I distribute a press release or other kind of announcement regarding my affiliation with CompleteTax?
If you would like to make any announcements, you MUST get approval from our Affiliate Manager by e-mailing us at affiliates@completetax.com.

Tracking and Payment

How are click-throughs and sales tracked?
Traffic and sales numbers are tracked by the Commission Junction online network system. Each link you use contains a unique tracking code that lets us know where the links came from. After you are approved into our Affiliate Program, an e-mail is sent to you with instructions on how to easily upload trackable CompleteTax banners, text links and graphics through Commission Junction.

How often do I receive a check for revenue sharing?
You will be paid monthly. If your commission is less than $25, the total amount will be carried over until the amount reaches $25.
